SACRVATORSFORUM

What if I just have a general question

Here is the place to start a thread about whatever.  Let's say you need to know the manpower necessary to unload a quickbuild RV-7 kit.  By the way, that is a question needed by a participant of this forum.  So whatever is fair, just send in your questions and someone will answer. (I hope)

My Favorite Aviation Hamburger

Hi SacRVators:
I thought I'd start this thread out by telling you about one of my favorite "hundred dollar hamburgers" (hdh).  From now on lets refer to going for a flight for lunch or a meal as an hdh.  This thread could be a collective of comments from those of us who routinely fly out with other SacRVators. It could be a collection of that favorite story that lead you to a great meal or place.  Whatever......  Where did we go, how was it, anything aviation or gastronomic will do.

A memorable hdh was years ago when I rented an RG172 from the Flying Farmers at Davis.  A longstanding member of that click, I enjoyed the rental prospect of flying.  My wife and I decided to fly-up to Roseburg Oregon to pay a visit to my friend Rudy and his wife Elizabeth.  Rudy is an old highschool budy, Vietnam buddy and professional buddy.  We have shared a great deal over about 45 or so years (WOW).   I aspired to build a Lancair  IVP aircraft so half of the trip was to pickup Rudy and his son, leave Ronni (my wife) with Elizabeth and fly to Redmond Oregon to test fly the Lancair.  The flight was perfect, overcast weather along the way but negotiable.  Over Three Sisters Range I completely lost my way and had to ask to be vectored to Redmond, that is another story.   We flew the  Lanciar, way  behind the Lancair by the way.   The Lancair company pilot, Dave Morss (yes that one) gave us a great intro flight, way over my head......... When we returned to Roseburg we enjoyed a great meal at a neat place called Rodeo Steak House and Grill.  Peanut shells on the floor and real cardiac active food.  Since then Ronni and I have returned to Roseburg many times.  They have a bunch of restaurants close to the airport.  Most of the time the FBO can arrange a ride as well.  A bit longer trip than we take on Saturdays but with an early start, it is a nice ride.  Other Restaurants that I liked at Roseburg are, Elmer's (Breakfast) and Kt Thai (Vietnamese & Thai).  How about you.....

Advice from an Expert

We all ask for suggestions from our hangar buddies and fellow RV builders.  Sometimes you need the assistance of a true Expert.  In my field, an expert is anyone with a comment who is over 300 miles away from his home.  In this forum I hope to call on people who make their living or have a wide range of actual hands (or heads) on experience in the area of the question.  We probably have some of you experts in our Sac Rvators group.  Come on, volunteer to be a Technical Advisor.  Ed, I am talking to you.

Building Snags, What slows us down

If you have a remedy for a construction snag, this is the place.  If you have a complaint or an idea that might be helpful to others, welcome.

Your Help is Appreciated

This forum will only be successful if we get what we need out of it.  Please let me know what you want to see.  The sky is the limit (or my abilities).  You technology types could really be of help as well.  Comments and suggestions please.

Aviation Articles

We are all interested in General Aviation.  Most of us have something meaningful to say about the experimental segment of GA.  If you have a statement or an idea pertaining to this segment of aviation, please send it on.

New Blog for SacRVators

I am happy to offer this forum to collect our RV related conversations.  It will serve to clean up our email a bit and also allow all others, not only those SacRvators members, to benefit from our constructive conversations.  Your ideas and contributions are necessary to make this work.  Let me know what we need and I will work it in.  To the left you will find "Category Archives".  You can comment on any of these threads or send me a message under "Blog Suggestions" if you have a request or a suggestion.
Now some rules:
1.  No profanity
2.  No poster bashing
3.  Only original works.  I won't publish an email that you received from another author.  If the work is good, ask the author to submit it directly in the catagory or thread.  I would consider articles that preface the fact that it is by somone else who has agreed to have it published.  Original author cannot be annonymous.
Looking forward to getting this going.  Again, some of you have already done this, your advise is appreciated.
